About
I am born in Singapore, to a chinese family - of the Hakka dialect group.
My Dad, Mum and younger Bro are my heroes. I am very proud to be in this family and I am truly blessed. Dad has everything I want to see in my future spouse and more; Mum is my pillar of strength for all issues; and my Bro… I so sometimes wonder who’s the younger sibling .. because this guy is so stable and mature - Lucky girl who gets him for life.
I am a Christian. I do think a world of God, who thinks a world of me. His ambassadors (myself included, definitely) can work harder on their people skills. Honestly, some of us suck, big time.
I love music. I think the world is incomplete if music is out of the picture. Having said that, I (still) hold the view that techno music is just a series of meaningless repetitions. Sorry to the world of techno, trance, house music and what not. My type: Alicia Keys, Corrinne May, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Michael Buble, Sara Bareilles, Tristan Prettyman, David Tao, Jay Chou, Destiny’s Child, Israel Houghten, Steven Curtis Chapman, U2, and (even if it seems religiously wrong to juxtapose this next group of artists with U2) Boy Bands!!!! (*sheepish grin while twirling a lock of hair*) - the cheesier the better :)
I love scuba-diving. I greet the underwater world with wide-eyed wonder everytime I descend. Diving keeps me humble about my existence in this world too.
I love reading. But I do not indulge in trashy romances; nothing too whimsical and over-the-top for me. I like to be carried with the wind, but not gone with the wind, you know what I mean…
I think Alan Greenspan is cool.
I love to spend money. Plastic is bad, hence.
I love to travel. And I’ve discovered that you will always be exotic in a foreign land.
I love my Canon Ixus 75. Small & humble beginnings.
I kind of like photography. But I am stopping myself. I need to keep my interests within the means of my pocket…
I love pretty things.
I quote from “The Devil Wears Prada”: - “Fashion is not about utility… An accessory is merely a piece of iconography used to express individual identity.”
I love my galfriends. Anyone who challenges our love and loyalty for each other will be very sorry.
I love weddings. Because they are always sweet, warm and fuzzy.
I think… FOOOOD.
I am trying to be more domesticated and cook well. Seriously, it cannot be THAT difficult. Dad and Mum (and sometimes Bro) are wondrous cooks. It must be in my genes… somewhere…. In any case, I do partly blame my uptaking of the Music Elective Programme instead of Home Economics during my Secondary School days.
I hate writer’s block.
I embrace every right as a female driver.
I reckon that the only pet I’ll ever have is fish… Because they stay in a tank. They don’t slobber all over you or catch lizards and play with them or need walks.
I think babies are very cute miracles… especially when they are not crying. Sweetest things, they are.
I like National Geographic.
I read The Economist, weekly. (Note I didn’t say, “I understand The Economist, weekly”)
I hate to pack.
I prefer to receive Health Supplement Pills than stuffed toys as gifts. I’m kind of beyond that stage. Thanks.
I am constantly in self-denial and I have every and any excuse up my sleeves.
Few people have me dumbfounded. If you are one of them, congratulations. Put it in your resume, it may count for something.
I have a compulsion to point out a spelling error (when I know it’s wrong), but if someone points out my spelling errors, I’ll just say, “Oh… Fast fingers… Can’t help it man…” I know… Show-Off-cum-Cheater-Bug… :)
I run.
I swim.
I like the water.
I only use 0.38mm-0.5mm black/dark brown ball point pens for writing.
I think eye-liners and mascaras are very essential.
The ultimate purpose of sunglasses is to not let women have wrinkles in future.
I detest durians. I think it’s because Mum has had too intense a craving for them when she’s pregnant with me. I’ve probably hated it since I was in her womb. BLEAAH…durians….
I don’t miss chewing gum that much.
